"It was imprudent of us, in the first place, to become authors. We could have become something regular, but we managed not to.
We were lucky, but we were also determined." Roy Blount Jr

"I don’t change the facts to enhance the drama. I think of it the other way round, the drama has got to fit the facts,
and it’s your job as a writer to find the shape in real life."
Hilary Mantel

Sunny Sunday Stroll

I can see this view from inside the house, but when I step onto the deck in the fresh air, it takes my breath away. No photo can do these colours justice, I fear. The sky is unbelievably blue, the trees amazingly vivid.

The Autumn Joy sedum has joyfully changed from rose to rust.

Flowers still bloom in my borders.

Black-eyed Susan.

Tall garden phlox.

And yes, even my mixed-up forsythia, who thinks early October weather is akin to late April.

Lily-of-the-valley in its autumnal form.

The maples in front of the house, near the road, are multi-hued...

...while those at the edge of the woods are just beginning their show.

For other strolls today, go here!
