"It was imprudent of us, in the first place, to become authors. We could have become something regular, but we managed not to.
We were lucky, but we were also determined." Roy Blount Jr

"I don’t change the facts to enhance the drama. I think of it the other way round, the drama has got to fit the facts,
and it’s your job as a writer to find the shape in real life."
Hilary Mantel

Snow Day

Our forest, early this morning.

Ruth jumps for joy when she sees how much snow has piled up.

Tracking the red squirrel who raids the bird feeders.

Ruth and Jewel chased each other around their fence yard in the snow, a blur of black and white. Now they're napping soundly.

The snow keeps falling--sometimes heavily, sometimes lightly. We probably have 6 inches on the ground, I expect at least an inch or two more by the end of the day.
